Biography

Over the past decade, Mathew Robb has established himself as one of Melbourne’s highly demanded freelance guitarists. Mat's versatility, professionalism, and ability to adapt to many different musical environments have all been aspects that have kept this young musician busy for so long.

Mat has performed at many events including The Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Darwin Music Festival, and Melbourne International Arts Festival. Mat has also had co-written music featured on commercial television for the company “BONDS".

Mat has recorded electric, acoustic, lap steel, pedal steel guitars for many artists, some of these include: Mojo Juju, Joelistics, Sensible Antixx Feat N'fa Jones, and L-Fresh the Lion, The Black Orchid String Band, So. Crates, Sello Moleffi, Miss Colombia, Safire (BBA), Zii Music, MOPOKE, Rat Child, Nardia, Miss Niasha, MWA, Mariam Sawires, ORA, Sammy Owen Blues Band, and much more.

Mat has learned from some of the world's best including Scott Henderson (USA), Mike Stern (USA), Paulo Aragao (Brazil), and many of Australia's best.

Currently, Mat is writing his own record where he has been drawing upon his influences from 60/70's Jazz Fusion and Spirit Jazz, as well as, his love for Psychedelia and Music from around the world. Mat has also been collaborating on several other artist's records that are scheduled for release in 2021.
